The Cub Scouts of Pack 784 will be distributing bags to Odessa households this Sunday as a part of the annual "Scouting for Food" program.
Each year, the Cub Scouts deliver empty grocery bags to every household in Odessa. Residents are asked to place non-perishable food items in the bags and have them ready to be picked up the weekend of November 10-11, after which they will be delivered to the Odessa Food Bank in time for Thanksgiving.
Food items that are especially needed, according to Food Bank director Julie Jantz, are peanut butter, canned meat, mild chili, Spaghettios, macaroni and cheese, "helpers" (hamburger, tuna or chicken), pasta or noodles, pasta reals, fruit juice, vegetable oil, jam/jelly, condiments, toiletries, laundry soap, toilet paper, dish soap and shampoo.
