Junior-high football team ends season with a shutout

The Odessa-Harrington junior-high football team shut out the Wilbur/Creston team, 34-0.

Cole Kissler scored three touchdowns to lead the offensive effort by the Titans. Another highlight was a 60-yard touchdown run by Colt Sanford. Caleb Behrens scored a touchdown on a one-yard quarterback sneak. Jayd Jennings had an interception to end the game.

Head coach Larry Weber said, “The defense rallied to the ball and tackled well, not allowing WC to score.”

The O-H Booster Club purchased 160 hamburgers and served them to players and family members from both towns. Stacey Hunt, Pete Martin, Sam Read and others volunteered to cook burgers.

Pastor Tim Hauge announced the game held underneath the lights at Finney Field.

“The kids played hard all season and improved as the season went on. We were a tough team to beat during the last few weeks of the season,” said Weber.
