Win streak brings the Titans a District championship

Having your team gel and reach its peak at the end of the season is every coach’s dream. The Odessa-Harrington Titans boys basketball team has been making their coaches very happy with nothing but wins all the way through the post-season thus far.

O-H vs. Cusick

On February 9, the Odessa/Harrington Titans defeated Cusick, 60-52, at the District 7 playoffs at Deer Park High School, putting them into the championship game on February 16 also at Deer Park High School.

Cade Weber led the Titan scoring with 17 points, while Justin Hunt added 16. Stetson Sanford had 9, Markus Smith 7, Madison Charlton 5, Jacob DeWulf 4 and Sam Schafer 2.

O-H vs. Wellpinit

On Saturday, February 16, the Titans defeated Wellpinit, 50-46, for the District Championship. Wellpinit had a very slow first half, but came back strong in the second half. It was not enough, however, and the Titans got the win.

Justin Hunt led the Titan scoring with 18. Sanford added 10; Cade Weber, Jake Tanke and DeWulf added 5 each; Smith 3; Charlton and Nick Tebow 2 each.

Hunt also led in rebounds with 7, and Weber had 5.

Regional game Saturday

The Titans next play a regional game against Pomeroy Saturday, February 23, at 4 p.m. at Walla Walla High School. The winner moves on to the state tournament at the Spokane Arena, and the loser will be done for the season.
