Police to target speeders, jaywalkers

Odessa police chief Helen Coubra told the Town Council Monday night that she has observed far too much speeding on First Avenue, and that, coupled with rampant jaywalking by the town’s residents and visitors, could lead one day to a serious accident or fatality. She and officer Bryce Peterson will focus over the next few weeks on reducing those two hazards. Warnings will precede ticketing in all but the most egregious cases.
