The Stumpjumpers and their followers are coming to town this weekend. The site of the Desert 100 campsite at the intersection of SR 28 and Irby Road will begin to get busy Friday in anticipation of the big weekend.

Vendors will begin setting up their tents and equipment early Saturday, and various fun races will begin and continue throughout the day. Sunday is the day of the big race, the Desert 100. Since several members of the Stumpjumpers Motorcycle Club have been in town all week following last weekend’s races, it is hoped that Odessa’s business community will have profited from their presence.

If you have to travel on SR 28 in the direction of Ephrata this weekend, be sure to use extra caution.
