Titan boys/girls beat both Inchelium and Selkirk teams

Inchelium

The Titan girls beat Inchelium Friday, 66-37. Katie DeWulf scored 18 points and Paige Alloway 17 to pace the Titan team. DeWulf had 14 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals for a productive game. Alloway had 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Lanessa Simon added 10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals; Jordyn Tanke 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 7 steals; Casey Schlomer 8 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal; Shelbey Watkins 4 points, 4 rebounds.

Amber Smith, Maleah Davison, Isabelle Phillips and Zoe Clark did not score.

The boys’ team started slow in the first quarter but found its groove after that and came away with the win, 56-44.

Sam Schafer was high scorer with 18 points, followed by Carsen Weber with 16. Schafer had 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, while Weber had 1 rebound, 4 assists, 3 steals. Shane Whitaker and John DeWulf had 9 points each, with Whitaker adding 5 rebounds, 1 assist and a whopping 9 steals and DeWulf grabbing 7 rebounds and 1 steal. Colton Hunt had 4 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists. Not scoring but contributing were Steven Braun with 1 rebound, Dakota Largent with 1 rebound and 1 steal and Colt Sanford with 2 rebounds.

Selkirk

Against Selkirk Saturday in Harrington, the Titan girls had another easy time of it, defeating the visitors 57-29.

Tanke had the hot hand with 23 points to lead the Titans. She added 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 8 steals. DeWulf and Simon had 8 points each, with DeWulf adding 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals, and Simon getting 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Watkins had 7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals; Alloway 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal; Schlomer and Phillips 2 points each, with Schlomer also grabbing 9 rebounds and getting 1 steal before fouling out. Clark had 1 point and 1 rebound. Smith and Davison did not score.

The boys’ game was close all the way to the final buzzer.

Weber was high scorer with 17, followed by Whitaker with 16. Weber had 1 rebound, 2 assists and Whitaker 3 rebounds in the effort. Schafer scored a “double-double” with 11 points and 10 rebounds, also adding 5 assists and 4 steals. DeWulf had 2 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Braun, Largent, Sanford and Hunt did not score, but Braun contributed 1 assist, Sanford 1 rebound and Hunt 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
