Titans defeat Wellpinit in both games of doubleheader

The Titans won both games of a doubleheader against Wellpinit April 21 at home in Odessa by scores of 16-0 and 20-3.

Chance Messer was the starting pitcher and got the win. He was relieved by Colton Hunt in the fourth. Brad Johnston was at catcher.

Carsen Weber got 3 singles, good for 3 runs, and also drew a walk. Johnston got a single for an RBI, and walked twice, accounting for 2 runs. Messer hit a double, driving in an RBI. Shane Whitaker connected for 2 singles, 2 RBIs and 1 run. Dakota Largent had 2 singles for 2 runs and an RBI. Caleb Behrens had a good day at the plate, hitting 3 singles for 3 runs and 3 RBIs. Jacob Montgomery walked in a run in his only plate appearance. Jayd Jennings hit an RBI single. Thomas Parham hit 2 RBI singles. Colton Hunt’s 2 singles accounted for 3 runs.

In game two, Johnston was the starting pitcher and got the win. He was also relieved by Hunt in the fourth. Messer was at catcher. Wellpinit pitchers walked 12 Titan batters over the course of the game.

Weber drew 3 walks and hit a home run to drive in 3 runs. Johnston’s one hit was a double. With that hit and a walk, he accounted for 3 more runs of which 2 were RBIs. Messer walked once and hit 3 RBI singles. Whitaker hit a single and a triple and picked up 3 RBIs. Largent walked once, struck out once and hit a single, ending up with 2 runs and 1 RBI. Behrens walked once and hit a double and a triple for 2 runs. Jennings struck out once and walked once, producing 2 runs. Parham walked once and picked up an RBI. Hunt walked twice and hit 2 singles as he scored 3 runs and picked up an RBI.
