Titans place 6th at track and field meet in Colfax

At Colfax High School on May 5, the Titans faced other 1B/2B schools, with the boys' team taking sixth place and the girl's team placing tying for sixth.

Results – boys

In the 100 meters, Sam Schafer finished first in 10.96, Gaven Elder was 6th in 11.51 and Colby Sooy was 33rd at 13.00.

In the 200 meters, Cole Kissler placed 10th in 25.06.

The 800 meter race had Tyler Paris coming in at 11th in 2:27.71, while in the 1600 meters he was 12th in 5:24.14.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Aaron Gies nailed first place in 17.99.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Schafer was first in 41.40, Gies was fifth in 47.90 and John DeWulf was 7th in 48.25.

The 4x100 relay team of Kissler, Paris, Elder and Gies was 8th in 49.85.

The shot put had Schafer in 4th at 39-10.00, Sooy 11th at 33-01.50 and Connor Perry* 15th at 32-00.00.

In discus, Colby Sooy finished 12th at 98-06.

In javelin, Schafer was 4th at 131-03, Perry had a distance of 120-00, DeWulf was 8th at 119-10, Gies was 12th at 112-09, Sooy 18th at 99-10, Paris 24th at 95-01, Kissler 27th at 91-03.

In high jump, Perry finished with 5-04.00.

In pole vault, DeWulf was 7th at 9-06.00 and Kissler was 9th at 9-00.00.

In the long jump, Elder was 14th at 15-03.00.

In the triple jump, DeWulf took first place at 37-05.50 .

Results – girls

In the 100 meters, Shelbey Watkins was 11th in 14.18.

In the 800 meters, Amber Smith was 8th in 2:52.15.

Watkins was 9th in the 100-m hurdles in 18.40.

In the 300-m hurdles, Watkins finished 6th in 54.43 and Smith was 10th in 58.48.

In shot put, Jenna Shafer was 9th at 24-08.50 and Evie Mann was 16th at 22-05.50.

Taking 3rd in the discus was Casey Schlomer at 88-04, with Shafer 8th at 75-10 and Mann 23rd at 50-10.

In the javelin, Schlomer came in second at 100-08, Shafer third at 100-00 and Jordyn Tanke 23rd at 53-06.

In the high jump, Smith was 10th at 4-04.00.

In pole vault, Schlomer finished 6th at 7-00.00.

In triple jump, Smith was 6th at 28-05.00 and Watkins was 7th at 27-07.00.

*Connor Perry cannot receive a score or placement because of WIAA rules. He lives in Davenport but now goes to school in Harrington. Therefore, since he went from a 2B to 1B school, he cannot play varsity sports for one year. He can compete but cannot be scored.
