Six Harrington Opera House piano students of Rebecca Hardy and Heather Safe performed Saturday afternoon at the Harrington Church of the Nazarene, since the opera house auditorium floor had not cured sufficiently for use. The program was initiated with “The Lonely Goatherd” (by Richard Rodgers, arranged by Glover) played by the two instructors, Rebecca Hardy and Heather Safe. Safe played “The Robin’s Return” (Leander Fisher; In Memory of Lilly Rauch Mitchell 1921-2014). Third on the program were three songs played as a duet by Bella Mattozzi with her teacher Heather Safe. These numbers were “The Wabash Cannonball” (American Traditional), “Barcarolle” (by Jacques Offenbach, arrangement by Brown) and “Fur Elise” (by Ludwig van Beethoven, arranged by Guaraldi). These numbers were followed by Charlie Nixon singing “America” (Katharine Lee Bates) with Rebecca Hardy playing the music. Charlie Nixon played two solos, “Waterfalls” (by Ferdinand Beyer, arranged by Marlais) and “Theme from Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto” (by F.J. Haydn, arranged by Marlais). Zachary Bruce played “Ode to Joy” (by Ludwig van Beethoven, arranged by Bruce) and “The Rocking Chair Blues” (by William Gillock). Elaine Van Bell with Heather Safe played “Canon” (by Johann Pachelbel) and “Theme from The New World Symphony” (by Antonin Dvorak, arranged by Faber). Emily Nixon played a solo “Camptown Races” (by Stephen Foster, arranged by Faber).
