Odessa Halloween Carnival Saturday

Odessa FFA Chapter reporter

The Odessa FFA chapter will hold its annual Halloween Carnival October 31, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Odessa Community Center. The event is to support the FFA chapter with funding and to provide an event for community members.

Community members of all ages are welcome to come to the Halloween Carnival. Come and enjoy food at the concession stand while the kids play the carnival games. Games back by popular demand are golf, pumpkin darts and football toss, along with activities such as cookie decorating (cookies graciously donated by Grannie BarBar), pumpkin decorating and a cake walk.

New games have also been added. Angry Birds and the Duck Pond should provide for a lot of fun. Prizes available are glow sticks, sticky hands, gliders, jewelry, bouncy balls and lots of candy, just to name a few of the items.

The entry fee is $1 per person, and 50 carnival tickets can be purchased for $10. This event is a fundraiser for the Odessa FFA. Monies raised help support chapter activities throughout the year. We still need more baked-good items for the cake walk. If you wish to donate, please bring your item to the Community Center by 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. This event is a great avenue that helps FFA members with leadership growth. We hope community members will join us for a hamburger while they watch the young ones in their Halloween costumes earn prizes in the carnival area.
