Quilt Show a big part of Spring Fling's activities

Fronen Steppdecker, Odessa Quilt Club presents their 25th Annual Quilt Show this Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29. Over 190 quilts have been entered in addition to The Hoffman Fabric Challenge Trunk Show and featured  quilter Judy Main’s collection of 29 quilts.

Postcard to Placemat, a new trunk show sponsored by The Appliqué Society has also been added this year. It is an international quilt guild originating in Sequim, Wash. Odessa’s own postcard was selected for this first competition. These placemat-sized quilts are original designs based on the content and colors of the postcard.

Attendees are invited to vote for their favorite quilts, visit the quilting-related vendor booths and quilting technique demonstrations throughout both days.

Saturday at noon, another new feature is a Quilts of Valor presentation. Quilts of Valor is a national organization, making and presenting quilts to military veterans as thanks for their service to our country.

About town, Nate Lathrop, owner of Rolling Thunder Pizza, has organized a Vintage Car and Bike Show to take place on Division Street. Rummage sales by private parties and philanthropic organizations will be held, and a map with directions to all the sales may be picked up at local businesses, the quilt show and the car show.
