The Odessa Record -

Free food, fun in Reardan, Harrington this summer

This summer the Reardan Memorial Library and the Harrington City Library will be offering two hours of crafts, books and fun beginning on July 3, closed on the Fourth of July, but then continuing every Monday through Friday through August 11.

The summer program begins at 10 a.m. with a snack and ends with a free lunch being served at noon. Kids will explore different themes through crafts, games and reading. Space camp will be one program. Additional programs will be Art around the World, Pirate Week, Mad Science Week, Survivor Week and Sports Camp.

The snack and lunch are provided by the Summer Food Service Program. Any child between the ages of one and 18 will be served a free meal on a first come, first served basis. The meals will be all the same and distributed to children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex or disability.

In Reardan the program will be in the Reardan City Park. In case of inclement weather, the meal site will move to the United Methodist church across the street from the park.

In Harrington, the Harrington school cafeteria will be the site of the program. Participants can enter through the north side door, which is the public entrance door to the pool.
