Fronen Steppdecker, The Odessa Quilt Club, held their annual business meeting and election of officers for the 2017/2018 year. Elected to office were, President, Gwen Clavel, Vice President, Dolores Nelson, Secretary, Lise Ott and Treasurer, Charlene Kagele.

April 27 and 28, the 2018 Quilt Show, are dates to set aside on your calendar. The Featured Quilter for 2018 will be announced soon. FBLA students are helping produce flyers and programs. Ag-shop students have been building additional quilt stands, as even more entries than last year are anticipated for the upcoming show.

The 2018 raffle quilt “Summer Star Flower” is currently on display at Experience Quilts! It is also entered in the quilt show of the Washington State Quilters to be held October 20-22 at the Spokane Fairgrounds and will be displayed at Christmas Fest on December 6 in the Odessa Community Center.

Proceeds from the local quilt show and the raffle quilt provide support for quilting education opportunities in the community and quilts for Angel Flight, a service for transporting medical patients to distant services and treatments. Local pilot Stan Dammel volunteers his time and plane to this service. Each patient he flies also receives a quilt from the guild.
