All aboard the elementary Polar Express December 4

The P.C. Jantz Elementary School will again be hosting a Family Holiday Reading and Math event for students in elementary grades. The theme is Polar Express. The event will begin on December 4 at 6:30 p.m. Parents and children are to check in at the Train Station…or cafeteria. Upon signing in, families will receive a Boarding Pass and Train Schedule that tells them the order to go to the different centers. Students and parents are invited to enjoy the many festive activities.

An ever-popular story teller, Dee Deife, will share the Polar Express and attendees will also receive reindeer bells. Those who hear them ring still believe in Santa. Those who do not hear the bells have lost their child-like beliefs.

New and popular projects and games will be offered in the game and craft centers. There will be a station for wrapping books to unwrap and read in the days preceding Christmas.

Tasty snacks will be available throughout the evening.

Events of this type are sponsored by Title 1-A and LAP. We encourage families to continue the tradition of wrapping new, used or already owned books for their children to unwrap and read the nights before Christmas. In an effort to support math as well as literacy, children may also take home printed games. Donations of books and gift wrap, along with parent help, is always welcome.
