Food bank updates its current needed items list

Odessa Food Bank director Merleen Smith says the continuing support of the Food Bank by the local community is helping many low-income residents eat healthier. “We now have plenty of brown grocery bags,” she says, “but currently the items most needed are boxed cereals, canned fruit, boxed meals such as hamburger helper, spaghetti noodles and sauce, peanut butter, soups and canned vegetables. Donations of goods and/or money are accepted. Food items may be left at any of the local churches, or donors may contact Merleen Smith at 982-2202 to make arrangements for their collection.
