On March 29, the boys and girls high school track and field teams participated in the Connell Instant Invite at Connell High School. Odessa was the only 1B school present, in addition to 2B NW Christian (Colbert), 1A schools Connell, Medical Lake, Royal and Zillah and 2A schools Cheney, East Valley (Yakima) and Grandview.
The boys team finished in seventh place and the girls finished in sixth place. Cheney High took the top spot in the competition of both the girls and boys.
