A notice on spectators at 2B home games

DAVENPORT – Attention Parents, patrons and students of Davenport High School. As of Monday, February 15, 2021, our region, the East region, has transitioned into Phase 2. What this means is that we may now compete in our sport offerings for fall season. Even though we are in Phase 2, we still must adhere to the strict 6-foot spacing requirement and everyone must continue to wear a mask on campus. We will not be charging to attend these contests. During volleyball and basketball contests, we will be clearing the gymnasium to sanitize for the next crowd of spectators. JV spectators will not be allowed to watch the varsity contests. All spectators will be required to sign a symptom free attestation form before entering the facility.

In order to comply with the strict COVID-19 W.I.A.A. rules regarding competitions, District 7 superintendents have agreed to the following guidelines:

For the first contest in soccer, football, cross country and the first two contests in volleyball, attendees will only be limited to home spectators. Each student-athlete will be given two wrist bands for each home contest. We will allow two spectators for each senior participant from the visitor’s side. There will be no concessions available. No other fans, adults or students will be allowed at the contest. Only faculty of home contests who are working the site may attend. We know this is hard to accept but our ultimate goal is to allow our current student-athletes an opportunity to participate during their junior high and high school years.

We are working on a way to live stream these events so those not in attendance can still watch the contests over the internet. We will have more information regarding this in the near future. Thank you for your understanding and support as we get our athletic programs back up and running.
