Odessa baseball wins second double-header

CUISICK – On April 13, the Tigers traveled to Cusick and won both ends of the double header against the Panthers. The Tigers took the first game by a score of 20-3 and the second game 34-3.

Collin Martin had a great day at bat in game one, pounding out three doubles and a triple and bringing in four RBIs. Jett Nelson also had a great day, hitting a home run and two doubles that gave him three RBIs. Martin also excelled in the field with 11 putouts and no fielding errors. Tim DeWulf was the winning pitcher, completing all four innings and giving up only one hit and three runs. He faced 18 batters, walking three and striking out 12.

In game two, the Cusick pitcher had a difficult time with control, issuing 11 walks and giving up 23 hits as the Tigers closed out the first inning with a 20-0 lead. Nelson had five hits that brought in five runs. DeWulf had four hits and Hayden Miller had three hits that resulted in six RBIs.

Martin pitched two innings in game two, facing eight batters, walking one and striking out five. Nathan Carstensen pitched one inning, facing six batters, striking out two and allowing two runs. Freshman Zach Claassen also pitched one inning, facing seven batters, walking one, striking out one and allowing one run.
