Locals make all-league football and volleyball teams

DAVENPORT – 12 athletes from Davenport and Reardan high schools have made the all-NE2B teams for football and volleyball, which this year ran from February to early April due to previous COVID-19 cancellations.

The Gorillas had four football players and two volleyball players represented, while the Indians had five football players and one volleyball players on the all-league teams.

Davenport junior Willie Waters headlined the group, making the first team for both offensive and defensive lines. Senior linebacker Skyler Henry, junior defensive back Jarrett Jacobsen and sophomore defensive lineman Sam Schneider were on the second team.

In volleyball, senior Haley Greenwood and junior Kylee Buchanan made the second-team for Davenport.

Reardan senior Kobe Martinez made the first team as a linebacker and the second team as an offensive lineman. His teammates joining him on all-league teams included senior offensive lineman Tristian Klinkenberg, senior defensive lineman Dusty Puls, junior defensive back Cody Sprecher and sophomore flex Abe Nelson, all of whom made the second team.

Sophomore Coalie Whitman was Reardan’s lone representative on the all-league volleyball second team.
