Boyd "Sam" Roberts

June 9, 1936 - June 4, 2021

Boyd "Sam" Roberts, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Odessa, Wash., on June 4, 2021. Sam was born on June 9, 1936 in Pocatello, Idaho to Brigham and Barbara Roberts. He grew up in the Pocatello area where he attended school. While in school he worked various jobs learning great skills and work ethic that he later put to work when he became a Journeyman Lineman for the power company. Sam worked as a lineman for many years before joining the then Lincoln Electric Co-op in Davenport and later Inland Power. Sam relocated to Odessa to have a crew member closer to the southern end of the county and this is where he stayed until he retired.

Sam married Sheryl on Feb. 17, 1989 in Twin Falls, Idaho. This led to 32 years of happiness for the two of them. They enjoyed traveling, beaches, waterskiing, arrowhead hunting, Huckleberry picking, metal detecting and he loved his Nascar.

Sam was a volunteer fireman/ EMT in several communities, Lions club member, played on the men's softball league in Davenport and was a member of the IBEW #77.

Sam is survived by his wife Sheryl at the home. He is also survived by six children Denise (Allan) Delorme, Lonny (Denise) Roberts, Regina (Dan) Hall, Cathie (Robert) Lowrey, Jennifer (Forrest) Rief, and Jason (Ricki McRae) Debord along with 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, his sister, Lynda Blevin, sisters-in-law, Kathleen Strobridge and Cheryl Peters, brother-in-law, Daryl Peters, and several nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Brigham and Barbara Roberts, an infant son, and his sister, Lawanna Woods.

An all desserts (Sam's favorite) Celebration of Life will be held on Fri. June 25, 2021 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Party On, 3 W First Avenue in Odessa, Wash.

Memorials may be made to the Odessa Fire Dept. or Odessa EMT's.
