DAVENPORT – Labor Day 2020 was a day that will live in infamy throughout the Pacific Northwest, as several fires ignited that fateful Sept. 7 and caused damage across Washington and Oregon. Lincoln County was no different, as one of the largest fires in state history began around 10:35 a.m. and blazed through over 127,000 acres of land-over 10% of the acreage in the whole county-in its destructive path from Hawk Creek southwest through Telford toward Odessa, jumping Highway 2 with ease.
