Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column. 

Sept. 27

Traffic stops: 5

The Sheriff’s Office reported receiving a lot of 911 calls from a woman not reporting emergencies but talking about her husband snoring and her singing voice.

A truck with a flat tire was discovered with a sign stating the owner would retrieve it the next day.

A Davenport man said his 14-year-old son came to visit him and was refusing to go back with his mother.

An abandoned vehicle was reported on the 200 block of Eighth Street in Davenport.

An alarm was reported going off in Odessa.

A caller said her neighbor, who was the same woman calling the Sheriff’s Office about her husband snoring, was in her house and wouldn’t leave.

A Creston man needed lift assistance getting to the hospital.

A Spokane woman reported a dark-colored truck drifting around the corners of Jefferson and Eighth Streets in Davenport.

Sept. 28

Traffic stops: 8

A Colville man said he hit a deer and damaged his car.

A semi-truck reportedly hit a gate at the school in Reardan.

An Almira woman said she let a woman and her boyfriend stay in her camper trailer and her property, and the boyfriend took her car after speaking nonsense.

A Creston man said he was denied access to his easement and his key wasn’t working.

A Davenport woman reported a large white passenger van hanging around Hart and Panke Roads that reportedly followed the woman’s sisters down the road and made them feel uncomfortable.

A caller said a young girl kept calling her house repeatedly asking, “help me mom, please help.”

An Almira woman said her friend was sending harassing texts.

A caller said their neighbor’s dogs had been parking for several hours.

A Davenport woman called to say, “I can’t do this anymore” and said she was locked in her room on Merriam Street.

Sept. 29

Traffic stops: 11

A Lincoln County Jail inmate was transported to Lincoln Hospital for a rapid COVID-19 test.

A caller said there were four brown cows out of their fence around Mayberry and Rocklyn Roads.

A caller reported a car going off the road into a field on Highway 21 at milepost 103.

A Davenport woman said someone tried to open a line of credit with her information and maiden name.

A caller said his ex-girlfriend put a court order against him in court but was repeatedly texting him trying to get him to reply.

A Davenport man said a man came to his back door and claimed to be selling beef and seafood.

A caller reported two lost black cows.

An Odessa woman said there was a man who lunged up from the ditch onto the side of the highway and started walking westbound.

A caller said her ex-husband had been video and audio recording her during their encounters for two weeks straight.

A Reardan man said a suspicious vehicle and trailer pulled up to his neighbor’s residence on the corner of North Lake Street.

A Wilbur man requested a welfare check at his residence on the 100 block of Northeast Cliff Avenue.

Sept. 30

Traffic stops: 17

An Edwall man said a car went off the road and through his fence on the 170000 block of Waukon Road North.

A one-vehicle rollover crash was reported in an undisclosed location.

A Davenport woman said her nephew didn’t come home after school and went to the skate park instead.

A Creston woman reported a white pickup with a trailer blocking the road on Hawk Creek Grade.

A few grocery items were reported stolen at Safeway in Davenport.

Oct. 1

Traffic stops: 6

A woman said a man broke a window in her trailer and was yelling.

A Davenport man reported a handful of white cows loose near Highway 25 and Hume Road.

An Odessa caller requested a welfare check on someone who wasn’t coming to their door.

An Odessa woman reported four aggressive dogs on the 400 block of East Fourth Avenue.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Audubon Lake parking lot just north of Reardan.

A reckless semi-truck was reported making bad passes on Highway 2 at milepost 248.

A woman reportedly fell and couldn’t get up due to a shoulder injury at the Seven Bays marina.

A man said his wife was hitting him earlier, so he slapped her back.

A caller said a man he doesn’t know opened the door at his house on Mill Canyon Road.

Oct. 2

Traffic stops: 13

An Almira woman said some youths were driving around town on a four-wheeler and were using the loading ramp at Pinky’s Vintage Flea Market as a part of their “track.”

A Wilbur man requested a welfare check on a woman who wasn’t answering her door and whose sprinklers were on for several days in a row.

A Davenport man said he picked up two dogs near the Seven Bays airport.

A Creston man said his landlord sent him a notice to vacate his house on Sky Vista Lane in August, and the landlord and some prospective tenants were on the property going through his stuff.

A woman said she was having an allergic reaction to medication after she was pulled over on Highway 174 at milepost 36.

A Davenport woman reported a Dodge passing cars on the right heading west on Highway 2 near Janett Road.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at Highway 174 and Keller Road.

A Ford woman reported a one-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 231 just north of the canyon.

A non-injury car vs. deer collision was reported.

A caller reported a man walking from one vehicle to another vehicle in a field on Highway 28 just west of Duck Lake Road.

An Odessa man reported a suspicious truck.

A Creston woman said she was having a hard time that day.

An Odessa woman reported a truck pulling a flatbed trailer with another truck on the trailer blocking their driveway on West Second Avenue.

A Davenport man reported a suspicious person walking on Gunning Road.

Criminal docket-Sept. 28

Wyatt Samual McClure, who was convicted of second-degree rape of a child in 2020, was ordered by the court to serve 90 months in prison with credit for time served after the court ruled that violations of McClure’s SOSSA were established since his release from jail and ordered the SOSSA sentence be evoked. A new judgement and sentence was scheduled for Oct. 27.

Gary Chandler Angell, who is charged with residential burglary, first-degree identity theft, second-degree theft and first-degree stolen property trafficking, was given a status conference scheduled Oct. 5 and a jury trial scheduled Oct. 27. Bail remains $20,000.

LeVance Anthony Reed, who is charged with 10 counts of a protection order violation, was found mentally competent enough to stand trial. A readiness hearing was set for Oct. 5 and a jury trial was set for Oct. 27.

Reina M. Karunaratne, who is charged with residential burglary, had a mental evaluation scheduled for Oct. 5. She remains indigent. The case was continued to Oct. 19.

Ernest Vern Windisch, who is charged with second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, had his case continued to Oct. 5.

Cody James Magruder, who is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, first-degree theft, two counts of second-degree vehicle prowling and second-degree malicious mischief, had a readiness hearing set for Nov. 9 and a jury trial set for Dec. 1.

Kendra Marie Tonasket of Spokane, who is charged with second-degree identity theft after being arrested by the Reardan Police Department Aug. 27, was summoned to appear for a preliminary appearance Oct. 19.
