DAVENPORT--The Gorillas needed a win to stay alive in the race for NE2B districts, and they managed to get that win against the Kettle Falls Bulldogs on Senior Night 3-2 (18-25, 25-19, 25-19, 17-25, 15-12). Davenport improved to 3-11 with the win.
Kettle Falls came out swinging, taking the first set 25-18. However, Davenport battled back to win two straight sets, both by scores of 25-19. Then, Kettle Falls evened the match 25-17 in the fourth set.
The fifth set was a back-and-forth affair. Kettle Falls scored the first four points of the set, but Davenport scored four straight of its own....
