Reardan senior Cody Sprecher makes a move against Tekoa-Rosalia Friday, Dec. 3. Sprecher scored 22 points and snared four steals in Reardan's 64-62 win over the Timberwolves.

REARDAN – Four seconds.

That's what was left on the clock when the Reardan boys pulled ahead of the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves in a basketball matchup Friday night, Dec. 3.

Reardan won the non-league game, 64-62, in the closing seconds.

The Class 1B Timberwolves (1-1) led the entire second half, until Reardan junior forward Tristo McCrea ducked under the defense for a 2-point shot inside the key with just 4.2 seconds remaining in the game.

That shot lifted Reardan to its first lead of the second half, 65-64.

Then, on the ensuing throw-in, Tekoa-Rosalia fouled Reardan freshman guard Rysen Soliday, sending him to the free-throw line, where he missed his first shot, but sank the second to give his team a 2-point lead.

The Timberwolves got the ball back and after a quick in-pass, launched the ball down the court.

A Reardan player picked off the pass, dribbled once and inadvertently stepped out of bounds.

The clock showed time expired, but the referee put 0.8 seconds back on the clock, just enough for the Timberwolves to pass the ball in and get off a 3-point shot that bounced off the rim at the buzzer, leaving the final margin in Reardan's favor.

Cody Sprecher led Reardan with 22 points and four steals, while McCrea added 21 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Jakari Singleton nearly had a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Reardan then took to the road and fell to Lake Roosevelt 61-57 Saturday, Dec. 4 in the boys first loss of the season. Reardan held a slim 30-29 lead at halftime, but the Raiders won the second half 32-27 to secure victory.

Logan Flaa led Reardan with 17 points and four assists. Sprecher had 15 points and six rebounds, but also turned the ball over 11 times.

Reardan heads back on the road for a date with Colville Friday, Dec. 10 at 5:45 p.m. before Winterfest the next day in Davenport.
