Odessa's Tiger girls beat Northport, fall to Wellpinit

Melloney Deife (#13) scored 13 points in the Feb. 11 win over Northport.

ODESSA – Last Friday's playoff game at home against the Northport Mustangs was a win for the Tiger girls, 58-36. It was a loser-out game, so Northport's season came to an end.

Ashlyn Neilsen scored 26 points, while teammates Melloney Deife and Hayden Schuh also scored in double figures with 13 points each.

Schuh was the team leader in rebounds with eight.

On Feb. 14, the team faced a very fired up Wellpinit team at home in Odessa and lost a hard-fought contest in which the Tiger shooting was cold, while the Redskins were hitting some incredible shots from all over three-point range.

Neilsen and Schuh scored 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Laela Hardung had 11 rebounds to lead the team.

This game represented the double elimination portion of the district tournament, so Odessa plays again Wednesday, once again at home in Odessa versus ACH.
