County, Teamsters reach agreement

DAVENPORT—The first contract in the six-year history of often tense relations between Lincoln County and Teamsters Local 690, which represents the Sheriff’s Office’s commissioned and non-commissioned officers, has been signed.

After an eight month negotiation period that included five months of public negotiations at county commissioner meetings, collective bargaining agreements for the commissioned and non-commissioned officers were approved by the county commissioners Monday, March 21.

Teamsters 690 business agent Joe Kuhn signed the agreement Feb. 24, according to county commissioner meeting documentation.

The final in-person round of negotiations occurred in November, at which point an agreement seemed imminent. Commissioner Rob Coffman said Monday that the three-month period before an official agreement was used to tie up some administrative items before signatures were provided.

The agreement took effect Feb. 24 and is good for three years.
