Keith Cameron Klein

June 19, 1956 – Dec.30, 2021

Keith Cameron Klein, 65, was born June 19, 1956 to Dwaine Richard and Clara Dorothea Klein at Sacred Heart Hospital. He passed away Dec. 30, 2021 at Deaconess Medical Center.

Keith loved growing up in Edwall. Due to an injury sustained in infancy which robbed him of the full use of his right arm, he didn’t let that keep him from being involved in school activities, or stop him. What he loved about attending Edwall Public School was, though his right arm didn’t work, “no one treated me differently, or cared”.

Attending Sprague High School from 1970-1974, he played basketball and tennis, was in the marching band, sang in the choir and performed in school plays. Being artistically gifted, he won the Washington State Prevent Forrest Fire Poster Contest. He also designed several of the school yearbook covers.

He attended Northwest College, Southern California College, where he received a BA in Business Administration. He also attended Eastern Washington University receiving a Psychology degree and teaching credentials, with endorsements in business and math.

Keith built a kit car, a 1979 Cimbria GT, which was continuously being tinkered with, and restyled throughout his life. He enjoyed attending car shows and showing off his Cimbria. Keith was president of the Lion’s Club/Edwall Men’s Club for about 15 years. (Even he couldn’t remember how long it had been when asked!).

Jan. 29, 2019 Keith had spinal surgery hoping to regain the feeling being lost in his right leg and arm. After a mini heart attack and a TIA (mini stroke) Keith had triple bypass surgery on June 6, 2019, spending the next year living at a rehabilitation center or hospital. August 2020 Keith moved in to an apartment in Spokane, having caregivers come in daily.

Keith lived the last year and a half of his life on his own terms, enjoying social media and making acquaintances all over the world. During one of the last conversations with his sister he told her he wanted us to “Don’t feel sad, have a party. I finally feel good after years of feeling crummy. Say good-bye, and have a party”.
