DAVENPORT—Despite concerns earlier this summer that a closure may be imminent, the Davenport Senior Center has been able to overcome challenges of high fuel and food costs and lost members and remain open.

“The Davenport Senior Center would like to sincerely thank everyone in and around Davenport who have made recent Donations to help us continue to provide meals and activities for our seniors,” president Carl Clark said. “Your continued support is greatly appreciated. We are very proud to care for and help our seniors.”

The Senior Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with lunch served at noon for $6. Home deliveries are also offered.
