Local Deutschesfest prep continues

500 apple strudels were made to sell over the weekend of festivities. Pictured: Jean Starkel, Lynnie Schafer and Mary Schorzman.

ODESSA- The community gathered at Christ Lutheran Church on September 6, 7 and 8 to make over 500 apple strudel to sell at Deutschesfest.

Volunteers helped lay down hay in the community center for the beer garden.

German flags were hung in the community center and will be present throughout Main Street.

Vendor booths are now going up and are made to look like a German town.

Port-a-potties have been placed in preparation for the crowd that will fill the streets.

German music was playing through Main Street at the time of this article.

There are more than 10 RV's already parked in various loc...
