Odessa Booster Club raises $50,000

ODESSA–The Athletic Booster Club raised $50,000 before expenses at their annual auction on Friday, Oct. 21.

A total of 165 tickets were sold by Travis Schuh and Odessa Drug.

The Booster Club and volunteers decorated the community center where the auction took place in The Tiger's theme.

Each table had fresh bread and croissants with garlic or sweet honey butter.

There were also dessert auction envelopes placed on the tables, and this was continued and started in 2021, where entire tables could bid on desserts.

The dessert table was full of home-baked goods from those that chose to donate.

Before the auction started, it was happy hour and the prime rib dinner with sides of caesar salad and loaded baked potatoes. Christine DeVore, Barbra Walter, Jeff Melcher and his crew all helped prepare the feast.

Jade Stewart of Wilson Creek organized the dessert auction and Danielle Hardung decorated.

Businesses in Odessa and community members donated items and packages to the live and silent auctions.

Some of the live auction items include: a fire pit with four rocking chairs and a charcuterie board donated by Odessa Golf Course and Dave and Janie Steward, a holiday cruise and stay package donated by Leffel, Otis and Warwick, 2 Walker Hayes concert tickets and a Clinkerdagger dinner donated by Seed Ride Inc and Todd and Terri King and a Murder Mystery Dinner package donated by the Odessa Golf Course girls and 1/2 a beef cute and wrapped donated by The McMillian Family.

The silent and live-on-the-side auction offered an array of items. There were 87 options on the silent auction and eight on the live-on-the-side.

Some of the silent auction items included: Tiger themed apparel by the Odessa Athletic Booster Club, a 1-hour flight for 1-2 people donated by Stan Dammel, a cookie platter donated by Grannie Bar-Bar Cookies, an engraved leatherette clipboard donated by Kaylene James and a Milwaukee M18 2 tool combo kit donated by Napa Auto Parts.

Some live-on-the-side auction items included: A mini photo session with Jenn Shwartz, an Odessa Tiger American Flag donated by Kevin and Stephanie Krieg and an "O" Tiger Cornhole set donated by Matt and Kelli Gorman.

"It went great," Booster Club member Suzie Deife said. "We were down from last year, but it went well."
