DAVENPORT—The school board approved posting for three new jobs needed in the district and heard several department presentations at its regular meeting Monday, Oct. 24.

The district will look to hire a director of plant operations, which includes overseeing facilities, maintenance and kitchen and an assistant director of plant operations.

“We really need two capable people in these roles,” board chair Deanna Fitzpatrick said.

Facilities director Joe Coppersmith submitted his resignation effective Nov. 18.

The board also approved a job posting for a one-on-one elementary special education paraprofessional position after elementary principal Sarita Hopkins said a student in the district needs such help.

The third action item Monday approved repaying an interfund loan of $21,078.11 from the transportation fund to the general fund.

By approving its consent agenda, the board approved the hires of Sue Tollefson as kitchen assistant cook and Andee Jacobsen and Stacia Soliday as co-middle school girls basketball coaches.

The board will next convene Monday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m.
