Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

General Election is Tuesday

DAVENPORT—The midterm election is nigh. Lincoln County voters will likely know by Tuesday night who their next Sheriff, Treasurer and County Commissioner will be, while voters statewide will see results in key Senate and Congressional races.

The polls close at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8. In Washington, a vote-by-mail state, ballots must be postmarked by this time.

Those who prefer to drop their ballots in a dropbox can do so in one of three places in Lincoln County: outside the Lincoln County Courthouse on Fourth and Sinclair Streets, inside the Courthouse at the Auditor’s Office and in Harrington at 11 South Third Street.

County voters have already taken an interest in the election. Elections deputy Norm Caley said 32% of eligible voters have already submitted their ballots, second-most of any county in the state. 8,325 ballots were sent this election, he said.

Just 18.2% of statewide voters had submitted their ballots by press time, according to the Secretary of State’s website.

Elections coverage will be provided by your Record-Times staff, with stories on outcomes and reactions from candidates coming Tuesday night on our website and on the front page of next week’s paper.

Weather permitting (snow is in the forecast), our office will be open to the public and fully staffed from 7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Election Day with television coverage of national happenings and local results coming in to the newspaper.
