Davenport girls expect to improve

Gorillas return most of 2021-22 season players

DAVENPORT - A girls basketball squad that finished 7th in the Northeast 2B before falling in its first district game in February at West Valley High School is expected to take a step forward this season.

Davenport returns most of its roster from last season, which head coach Stacia Soliday should allow for improvement.

"I think we'll be better," Soliday said. "We're a year older and more experienced."

Soliday said the team will be led by seniors Lena Waters and Kiersten Kemmerer.

Junior Jensyn Jacobsen may not be available for the first few games of the season but is expected to be anot...
