Tiger girls top Valley Christian

ODESSA — The Tigers won against the Valey Christian Panthers 60-30 on Thursday, Dec. 15.

Halfway through the first quarter, Odessa led 6-4, with Valley Christian close behind.

The gap quickly widened and with 2:40 left in the first quarter, Odessa was up 16 points.

Odessa dominated the first quarter 24-4.

Valley Christian only scored eight points during the second and third quarters.

The Tigers scored 18 points during the second quarter and eight during the third.

Valley Christian tried to come back with an impressive return, but there was no offense.

Odessa had impressive screens and was more aggressive with the ball and play.


Each team respectively scored ten points during the fourth quarter of play, but Odessa led by 30 points, 60-30.

Senior Ashlyn Neislen scored 28 points and had three rebounds. Junior Melloney Deife scored 14 points with one rebound.

Grace Nelson is still a hopeful return by early January, but it has yet to be confirmed. Junior Hayden Schuh is also still out due to injury, with no confirmation of her return at the time of this article.

The Tigers will face Waterville on Friday, Dec. 30, at 6 p.m.
