Davenport shooting threat not credible

Authorities rule comments made in jest

DAVENPORT — A 14-year-old boy that made comments about becoming a school shooter at the high school here was deemed to be playing into a joke that other students were making about him, authorities ruled after student interviews Thursday, March 30.

According to police reports, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy Jon Evans was told by school safety officer Mike Jacoby that the latter received a report of a student with a “hit list” that was planning a school shooting.

Upon being interviewed, the 14-year-old boy told Evans that other students began making jokes about him being a school shooter...
