County golf clubs open for season

Harrington, Odessa and Wilbur courses available

HARRINGTON - Prospective golfers in Lincoln County don't have to go far to get their links fixes in. Three nine-hole courses are available around the county, and all are open for the season.

Harrington Golf and Country Club, located at 700 South Second Street, opened April 1 and offers nine-hole and 18-hole rounds.

The clubhouse and course will be open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. every day, general manager Melissa Gilmore said.

Round rates vary between $20-$35 depending on the day of the week and number of holes being played. Punch cards are available for between $200-$260, and golf cart, pull cart and club rentals are offered.

A driving range is at the course, with a small bucket costing $5 and large bucket $10.

Memberships are also available on a contact basis.

Odessa Golf & RV, located at 13080 Highway 28 East, opened Monday, March 20 and is open from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. every day, owner Hannah Jahns said.

Weekday golf rates range between $18-$35 depending on the amount of time played, while weekend and holiday rates range between $20-$40. Cart rentals are also available for between $15-$35.

Big Bend Golf and Country Club at 899 Northwest Cole Avenue in Wilbur opened Monday, March 27. Manager Tasha Mings said the course is open via the honor system, while clubhouse hours vary due to a lack of food-related business.

Nine-hole golf is $16 on weekdays and $18 on weekends, while 18-hole golf is $26 on weekdays and $28 on weekends. Golf carts can be rented for between $18-$32 depending on length and time of week.
