First half taxes due Sunday

DAVENPORT — First half taxes and assessments are due Sunday, April 30, according to a release from the Lincoln County Treasurer issued Wednesday, April 19.

Taxes can be paid by mailing a check to the Treasurer’s Office, PO Box 370 in Davenport, or by dropping payment off in a dropbox on the north end of the Lincoln County Courthouse. Online payments are also available.

Interest will be charged for payments not received or postmarked by April 30, the release said.

Sun should shine this weekend

DAVENPORT — The cold temperatures of April that are more familiar of late winter than mid-spring are forecasted to finally give way to warm temperatures this weekend. High temperatures of 75 F Friday, April 28, 80 F Saturday, April 29 and and 78 F Sunday, April 30 are projected by the National Weather Service in Davenport.

High temperatures are expected to be warmer in Odessa, with 79 F, 85 F and 81 F top measurements forecasted.

Jackets may still be needed after the sun sets, as temperatures are expected to drop to lows of 47 F by Sunday night.
