Second arrest in shooting case

REARDAN — A second arrest was made last week as investigators continue to delve into what occurred the night of Feb. 22 when a gun went off and a boy died at a home on West Summit Avenue. The Reardan Police Department arrested and later released 14-year-old Izaiah T. Paige of Spokane outside the R Store on Lake Street Monday, April 24, according to records.

The Lincoln County Prosecutor’s Office filed a first-degree rendering criminal assistance charge Wednesday, May 3, accusing Paige of rendering criminal assistance to 16-year-old Koedi White by lying to 911 dispatchers about the shooting happening outside the house, according to documents.

Reardan Police re-interviewed Paige and released him to his guardian pending his court appearance after determining he wasn’t a threat to the public, according to records.

A court date hadn’t been set for Paige as of press time.

White was arrested and charged with first-degree manslaughter and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm Feb. 22 and is being held in Martin Hall while facing prosecution as an adult. He entered a not-guilty plea Feb. 28.
