Candidates begin to file

72 citizens had filed by press time

DAVENPORT — 72 candidates had thrown their name in the hat to run for 65 different public offices in Lincoln County as of 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17.

Filing week began Monday, May 15. Candidates have until 4 p.m. Friday, May 19 to submit their candidacy for the primary election Aug. 1.

Here are the candidates that had filed by press time Wednesday. We’ll run an update for the later filers next week.

County races

County commissioner: Incumbent Jo Gilchrist was the lone candidate to file.

Municipality races

City of Davenport: Incumbents Jonathan Chapman (seat No. 1), Robert Jenkins (seat No. 4) and Heath Becker (seat No. 5) filed for city council. Incumbent Brad Sweet filed for mayor and will be challenged by J.J. Kowalkowski.

City of Harrington: Incumbents Stephen Hardy (seat No. 3) and Kris Moritz (seat No. 4) filed for city council, as did Kelly Foreman (seat No. 5). Current councilman Joe Armand filed for mayor.

City of Sprague: Incumbent Rocky Henson (seat No. 3) filed for city council, as did Patty Kanan (seat No. 4). RonDel Krauter and Jeffrey Smith filed for seat No. 5.

Town of Odessa: Incumbents Victoria Iverson (seat No. 1), Josh Clark (seat No. 2) and Marlene Kramer (seat No. 5) filed for town council. Michael Igo filed to challenge Kramer’s seat. Incumbent Bill Crossley and challenger Ed Hayden filed for mayor.

Town of Reardan: Incumbent Dan Graham (seat No. 1) filed for town council.

School district races

Sprague School District: Incumbent Tracey Korthuis (seat No. 4) filed.

Reardan-Edwall School District: Incumbents Tessa Wicks (seat No. 2) and Ryan Clouse (seat No. 5) filed.

Odessa School District: Incumbents Ed Deife (seat No. 2), Carmen Weishaar (seat No. 3) and Chris Crossley (seat No. 4) filed.

Harrington School District: Britney Wagner (seat No. 1), Tony Hamilton (seat No. 2) and Thomas Schenk (seat No. 5) filed.

Davenport School District: Incumbents Garrett Husky (seat No. 3) and Tami Odenrider (seat No. 5) filed.

Fire district races

District No. 1 (Sprague): Incumbent Terry Harding (seat No. 3) filed.

District No. 3 (Odessa): Incumbent William Bell (seat No. 3) filed.

District No. 4 (Reardan/Edwall): Dawn Bennett and Jerry Dougherty filed for seat No. 3.

District No. 6 (Harrington): Incumbent Dusty Oestreich (seat No. 3) filed.

Hospital district races

District No. 1 (Odessa): Incumbents Jeff Schibel (seat No. 1) and H.P. Carstensen (seat No. 2) filed.

District No. 3 (Davenport): Incumbent Paul Weber (Seat No. 2) filed.

Cemetery district races

District No. 3 (Davenport): Robert Boleneus (seat No. 3) filed.

District No. 6 (Edwall): Bruce Cousins (seat No. 3) filed.

District No. 7 (Sprague): Larae Rodriguez (seat No. 3) filed.

Parks and Recreation district races

District No. 1 (Edwall): William Stromberger (seat No. 1), Justin Wollweber (seat No. 4) and Michael Bishop (seat no. 5) filed.

Metro Park district races

District No. 1 (Odessa): Michelle Dechand (seat No. 5) filed.
