The Reverend Stacey Friedlein

Stacey Lynn Friedlein, age 62, of Davenport, Wash. passed away on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023. Stacey was born on Nov. 2, 1960 in Guttenberg, IA to Oliver and Judith Friedlein.

Stacey graduated from LeRoy High School in LeRoy, IL and attended Illinois State University. He married Kelly Moss in 1982 and later divorced. In their marriage, they had 2 children, Kayla and Kyle.

Stacey met Suzanne Laskey (Botkin) in 2009 and they were married on Mar 5, 2011. He gained two stepsons Joseph and Joshua Laskey.

Stacey began his career as a photographer at the age of 16. He continued working in the photographic industry until 2014. Stacey was also active in the Boy Scouts of America and earned his Eagle Scout rank.

In 2016, Stacey began pursuing his lifetime call in ministry by attending Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. He was ordained into ministry on Oct 26, 2019 and called to serve Christ Lutheran Church of Egypt, Wash. and Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport, Wash.

Stacey was preceded in death by his father Oliver Friedlein. Stacey is survived by his mother, Judith Friedlein, daughter, Kayla (Josh) Leitschuh, beloved granddaughter, Juniper Renee Leitschuh, and son, Kyle Friedlein. Also survived by his wife, Suzanne Friedlein and stepsons Joseph and Joshua Laskey, his sister, Alisa Sorensen, his twin brother, Scott and his older brother, Chris and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life service will be held @ 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Oct 18, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1007 Washington Street, Davenport, Wash 99122

Memorials can be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
