Brommer restores worn park tables

Local Ed Brommer was the craftsman who repaired Reardan Town Park's picnic tables.

REARDAN - When local resident Ed Brommer sees a need, he is eager to fill it. In September, he attended the town council's ice cream social at the park and noticed the picnic tables were weathered and needed fixing.

"I've got the time and the ability to work on things like that so decided to go ahead and fix them," Brommer said.

In 2004, the Lions Club built 20 picnic tables for the 100th Anniversary of Mule Days. Brommer, who is 86-years old, was one of the men working on that project.

"As far as I know, the tables haven't been painted since we built them," he said.
