• Davenport High School principal G.W. Bannon began to plan for his retirement. Bannon had been accused by at least one parent of “playing God.”
• A hay truck crashed into the carport at the Splash ‘n’ Dash in Davenport, causing $400 in damage.
• The Harrington Lions Club scheduled its annual pancake feed, with proceeds going to the March of Dimes, Heart Fund and Cancer Society.
