Police chase ends near Harrington

One arrested on stolen vehicle charge

HARRINGTON — An Othello man was arrested on a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase from Interstate 90 into a field south of the city Tuesday, March 26.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Dexter Wallace, 37, Othello was arrested and booked into the county jail on the aforementioned charge at 9:04 a.m. Tuesday, March 26.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office requested help with pursuing a vehicle that was stolen and was heading on Interstate 90 into Lincoln County. Officials said a stolen white Chevrolet Silverado was pursued north on Harrington-Tokio Road before getting stuck on railroad tracks at Coal-Coulee Road. Wallace then took off on foot before being detained by deputies, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Wallace was transferred to custody of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office by press time, officials said.
