Odessa girls second at team championships

Boys finish fifth at Valley Christian

SPOKANE VALLEY—The Odessa girls track and field team put up a 133-point effort at the District 7 1B Championships Tuesday, April 30. That was good for second place, as host Valley Christian dominated the competition with 185.5 points.

Odessa’s boys finished in fifth place with 43 points. Valley Christian’s boys also won with 183.5 points.

The Tiger athletes are beginning to prep for the postseason, with District 7/9 1B Regionals coming up in Ritzville Wednesday, May 15 and Saturday, May 18.

The top 16 individual scorers from the season and the top 8 relay teams will compete at Regionals, where state qualifiers will be determined. Regional heats and schedules will be set Wednesday, May 8.
