Blackouts could be used as last resort
DAVENPORT — Avista regional business manager Melanie Rose and Davenport operations manager Nick Harmon provided the Lincoln County Commissioners with an update on wildfire plans for 2024 at the Commissioners’ regular meeting Monday, June 3.
That plan includes moves as minimal as inspecting trees and as extreme as, in a worst-case scenario, shutting off power to an at-risk area.
Rose said there are 982 Avista customers in Lincoln County, and the highest fire risk related to Avista services is in the most northeastern portion of the county near Long Lake. Right across the river in Stevens County...
