Pump motor eludes city

HARRINGTON — Residents in city limits are still asked to conserve water as Mayor Joe Armand is scrambling to find a permanent solution to fix its water pump on Well No. 3 that failed Tuesday, May 21.

As of a conversation with the newspaper Monday, June 3, Armand was mulling whether it’s more cost effective to replace the motor on the failed pump or “pull everything off” and put in a new submersible pump.

“There’s at least a seal (on the failed pump) that’s going to have to be replaced,” Armand said.
