Wilbur-Creston, Reardan wrestlers excel at tournament

COULEE DAM - Wrestlers from Wilbur-Creston and Reardan delivered standout performances at the Powerhouse wrestling tournament at Lake Roosevelt High School on Saturday, Dec. 21, claiming multiple top placements in their respective weight classes.

Here are the results:

In the 126-pound division, Reardan's Joey Matusik claimed second place after a hard-fought technical fall loss to Okanogan's Tanner Grooms in the championship match. Brayden Fridye of Tonasket secured third, pinning Angel Vazquez Pacheco of White Swan.

Carson Kline of Reardan shined in the 138-pound category, earning the championship title with a major decision victory over E.K.S. Camel of Okanogan. Reardan's Owen Pendell placed third, pinning teammate Alex Matusik in a competitive matchup.

Parker Gralapp of Reardan showcased his skills in the 144-pound bracket, advancing to the championship round before being pinned at 3:30 by Tonasket's Kase Denison. Gralapp finished in second place, with Okanogan's Joseph Kruse taking third.

In the 175-pound division, Wilbur-Creston's Nate Anderson had a strong showing, finishing in fourth place after a hard-fought match against top competitors. Reardan's Connor Bouge earned second in the same division, falling to Cle Elum-Roslyn's Josiah Beiter in the finals.

The 190-pound bracket saw Cutter Pritchard of Okanogan dominate the field, while Wilbur-Creston's Brock Simms put up a strong fight, finishing fourth.

The tournament also featured impressive performances from athletes across the region, including champions from Tonasket, Okanogan and Lake Roosevelt.
