Serving up reading success
DAVENPORT - On June 6, twenty-three students from the elementary school's fourth grade classes were rewarded with an end-of-the-year pizza feed at the 6th Street Café by teachers, Morgan Hunt and Karen Lyle.
This was the twenty fifth-year Lyle has recognized her students for achieving their reading goal for the year. This year the students read at least 2025 minutes at home. In addition to the pizza, Hunt and Lyle made hats for each of the students.
"It is a great way to motivate students to read at home," Lyle said. "We are thankful for a wonderful local pizza restaurant to help us celebrate....
