A tourist headed for the gas pump in front of J. W. Fox’s store, missed the brake and hit the gas pedal and rammed into the pump smashing it considerably. The driver drove off and only Mr. Fox and the pump suffered.

A number of Davenport people attended a bucking contest at the Wade West farm in the Rocklyn area. Six riders took part and put on an excellent show.

Two special trains passed through Odessa last week. One was a load of cherries that were being sent east. The second was a load of silk headed for eastern manufacturers.
