Despite not making state, Cannons still complete mission

MEDICAL LAKE — By the traditional measuring stick of wins and losses, the West Plains Cannons 14-24 record might be judged as having under performed in 2025.

Five consecutive Spokane AAA regular season championships and as many appearances in state tournament play have set a high bar.

On the clock since early March, Cannons’ head coach Austin Sharp earned some time off coaching boys from Medical Lake, Reardan and the surrounding communities. The time off came after having had his job go into “extra innings.”
